Inmate dead at Clark County Jail; suicide suspected

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Authorities say it appears an inmate at the Clark County Jail has committed suicide.

Corrections staff found the male prisoner alone and nonresponsive in his cell at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office says deputies immediately began life-saving measures, without success.

The Vancouver Police Department is investigating. The prisoner’s identity was not immediately released.
