Democrat Jay Inslee enjoys a slight lead on Republican Rob McKenna heading into the final week of their campaign for governor, according to results of a poll released today.
Inslee received 48.7 percent to McKenna’s 45.6 percent among the 632 likely voters contacted in the KCTS Washington Poll. That difference is within the 3.9 percent margin of error for the survey.
Of those likely voters, one-third said they had already returned their ballots. Among them, 51.2 percent said they backed Inslee and 47.8 percent supported McKenna, an indication more Democrats than Republican are voting early.
In other results, President Barack enjoys a 20-point edge on Republican challenger Mitt Romney and all four statewide initiatives are passing.

The poll was conducted from Oct. 18-31. It has a margin of error of 3.7 percent among 700 registered voters and 3.9 percent among the 632 likely voters.
Also today, political science professor Larry Sabato’s latest crystal ball ratings give the nod to Inslee in this contest.
