MONROE — Human remains found weeks ago south of Monroe still have not been identified, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
A litter cleanup crew found the remains on the afternoon of May 9, along with a suitcase and a blanket in the woods off Downes Road, seven miles southwest of Monroe. The woods are north of Highway 522 and the Golf Club at Echo Falls.
Investigators have struggled to confirm the person’s identity. They announced Tuesday that they are seeking leads from the public. No further details have been released.
