SEATTLE — A King County investigation into the drowning of a man at Wild Waves Theme Park this past summer has not resulted in any conclusions as to what caused his death.
The Seattle Times reported that lifeguards had pulled Vijayarengan Srinivasan out of one of the activity pools on Aug. 20, but lifesaving efforts were unsuccessful. The medical examiner’s office determined the 32-year-old died from asphyxia due to drowning and ruled his death accidental.
King County Public Health released findings of its investigation this week saying lifeguards didn’t report being unable to see Srinivasan at the bottom of the pool. One lifeguard had told police that “murkiness” limited visibility in the water where the man died.
A state Department of Health spokesman said they found no violations in the drowning.
