ISSAQUAH — Issaquah police say a 56-year-old man shot and wounded a home intruder Friday afternoon.
KOMO News reported that the homeowner was home when he heard the doorbell. He did not recognize the man ringing the bell so he ignored him.
Police said that soon after, the homeowner heard a loud crash. The man had thrown an object through a glass front door to enter the home. Both men struggled and the homeowner fired two shots, striking the intruder in the shoulder.
A delivery truck driver observed the scuffle and called 911.
The intruder, a man in his 20’s, was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.
The homeowner was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
