Daniel Davis, a student at Jackson High School, recently served as a page in the Washington State House of Representatives. He was sponsored by state Rep. John Lovick, D-Mill Creek.
Pages perform a wide variety of responsibilities, from presenting the flags to distributing amendments on the floor. In addition to contributing to the efficient operation of the Legislature, pages receive daily civics instruction, draft their own bills, and participate in mock committee hearings.
To become a page, applicants must have a legislative sponsor and be between the ages of 14 and 16. For more information, visit tinyurl.com/HouseLegPage (Washington State House) or tinyurl.com/SenatePage (Washington State Senate).
