Jewell joining tribal summit on Bainbridge Island

BAINBRIDGE ISLAND, Wash. — Interior Secretary Sally Jewell will talk about tribal sovereignty, economic development and climate change at a tribal summit Thursday on Bainbridge Island.

The Interior Department says the summit is organized by Congressman Derek Kilmer and hosted by the Suquamish Tribe at its Community House in the town of Suquamish.

Representatives of nine tribes in the congressional district have been invited.
