Democrat John Edwards gets the national spotlight this morning. The question is will it be to announce that he’s getting out of the race for president.
Edwards is planning a speech in Louisiana at 10 a.m. our time and all the major national media outlets are saying he’s going to end his effort. Edwards finished third in Florida’s primary – behind Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. That’s the position he’s finished in most of the early caucuses and primaries.
If he leaves the race, Edwards will then be pressed to announce if he will back either one of the other two candidates before the Feb. 3 “Super Tuesday” line-up of primaries across the country or our state’s party caucuses Feb. 9.
