Starting today, we’re enabling comments on almost every story published on this site. Now you can add your thoughts, ask questions and converse with other people on just about any topic we cover, as long as you are a registered user.
Why do we require registration? We want to keep the conversation constructive, and experiences with other online forums have shown that people are more likely to engage each other civilly if they are required to use their names and a valid e-mail address.
You can review our complete guidelines for posting here, but most of them should be common sense. If you spot a comment that you find offensive, click the link next to it labeled “Request removal.” We’ll check it out and remove it if it violates our policy.
We won’t remove a comment just because you disagree with it. If you disagree, feel free to post a reply.
Let me know if you have any questions about comments, either by commenting here or sending me an e-mail. Your feedback is always welcome.
