A Snohomish County Superior Court jury has for the third time convicted Jerry Bartlett Jones, Jr. of the 1988 murder of his wife.
Jurors deliberated for about 4 1/2 hours before reaching their verdict.
Jones, who had acted as his own attorney, took the news with only a slight shake of his head. He asked the judge to send him to prison as soon as possible, so he can finish the time he has left to serve from his previous conviction. Judge James Allendorfer set the sentencing for Tuesday afternoon. Jones has about three years left on his term.
Before handcuffs were placed around Jones’ wrists, he hugged both of his adult daughters and his father.
