KENNEWICK — Jurors are deliberating the fate of an Umatilla man accused of fatally shooting three people in a Benton County orchard.
The Tri-City Herald reported that 24-year-old Francisco Resendez Miranda is charged with one count each of aggravated first-degree murder in the deaths of 23-year-old Abigail Torres-Renteria, 19-year-old Victoria Torres and 22-year-old David Perez-Saucedo last summer.
Jurors started deliberating Thursday afternoon.
The bodies of the Pasco residents were found in August 2014 in a field 15 miles from Resendez Miranda’s apartment. The case includes the aggravating circumstances of several victims and that he knew Torres-Renteria was almost nine months pregnant.
Resendez Miranda’s attorney argues that there is no way to know who was at Easterday Farms at the time of the killing.
