Alexander Ong, a junior at Kamiak High School, was recently informed that he earned a composite score of 36 in the ACT exam, the highest score possible. A student’s composite score is the average of the four test scores that he or she took.
On average, less than one-tenth of one percent of all test takers earn a perfect score. Among the nation’s high school graduates in the class of 2016, just 2,235 out of nearly 2.1 million students who took the ACT earned a composite score of 36.
