LONGVIEW — A Kelso man whose pet goat was mutilated by a teenage neighbor says he’s satisfied with the punishment for the boy.
Dennis Lienweber told The Daily News he could have pressed for more, but he sympathizes with the boy’s family after a mental evaluation found he had limited insight and judgment.
The boy pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and trespassing in August. He was ordered to pay $125 in fees and restitution and spend 30 days in juvenile detention.
In his evaluation, the teen said he was wrong to skin the neighbor’s pet goat in June 2013. He said, “If someone had tried to skin my dog I wouldn’t be very happy.”
