Key Peninsula firefighter injured in crash

LAKEBAY — A Key Peninsula firefighter and two other people were injured in an overnight crash near Lakebay.

Assistant Fire Chief Guy Allen told KING-TV that a battalion chief was responding to an aid call around midnight Monday with lights and siren when he collided with another car at an intersection.

The battalion chief was taken to Tacoma General Hospital complaining of chest injuries. The driver and passenger in the other car also were taken to the hospital.
