PORT ORCHARD — A Kitsap County sheriff’s spokesman says his agency is investigating a woman’s suspicious death in her Port Orchard-area apartment, as well as graphic photos purportedly showing the body and posted anonymously on an image-sharing website before authorities learned of the death.
The Kitsap Sun reported that Deputy Scott Wilson says the death appears to be a homicide. The woman is believed to be in her early 30s.
Wilson says the photos appeared to have been posted just before 3 p.m. Tuesday — about a half-hour before the death was reported. The photos included text indicating law enforcement would know about the death once one of the woman’s relatives found her body.
The spokesman says officers don’t believe this was a random attack. He refused to say how the woman died.
Wilson says while no suspect has been identified, detectives want to talk to “several people.”
Sheriff’s officers are trying to locate the woman’s missing gold Ford Focus.
The Kitsap County coroner will identify the woman and determine the cause of death.
