Snohomish’s Kla Ha Ya Days Festival is planned for July 16 to 20.
Kandace Harvey is set to lead the parade at 10:30 a.m. July 19 as its grand marshal. She was given the honor because of her work in the community, said Tammie Isackson, president of the festival.
Harvey has served on the Snohomish Community Food Bank board for 28 years. She also has worked with other organizations, including the Boys &Girls Club of Snohomish, the Snohomish Affordable Housing Group and the Snohomish Senior Center. Harvey also supports the Snohomish Education Foundation and Housing Hope.
She graduated from Snohomish High School then married Dick Harvey in 1968. She and her husband raised four children. All of their children are involved in family businesses at Harvey Field, the homestead on which the airport was developed in 1944.
Harvey Field continues its many years of hosting Kla Ha Ya Days activities. This year festival goers can take an airport tour, watch a volleyball tournament, catch the carnival or take an airplane ride.
