SEATTLE — Federal prosecutors have indicted a 40-year-old woman, saying the former Lake Forest Park water clerk embezzled more than $350,000 from the small water district.
The U.S. Attorney’s office in Seattle says Jackee Bormann-Zweekhorst made her first court appearance on Friday.
Prosecutors say that Bormann-Zweekhorst used a variety of schemes between 2004 and 2011 to embezzle the money. They she falsified time cards to her children would get paid for work never done. That amounted for more than $100,000. The indictment also says she used the water district’s credit card in the excess of $90,000 to pay college tuition and buy hot tub parts, boating and automotive equipment. She also falsified reimbursement on her personal credit card for more than $70,000.
