LAKE STEVENS — An early morning fire caused heavy damage to a day care Tuesday in the 8700 block of 11th Street NE in Lake Stevens.
The fire, reported just before 3:30 a.m., was contained inside the building when firefighters arrived, said Bruce Huston, a battalion chief with Snohomish County Fire District 8 in Lake Stevens. Firefighters from Lake Stevens, Marysville and Getchell districts extinguished the fire in about 20 minutes.
No one was in the building at the time of the fire, Huston said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
