LAKEWOOD — Police have shut down a thrift store in Lakewood, saying the owner was accepting and reselling stolen items.
The News Tribune reports that Thrift-T owner 44-year-old Timothy Tull pleaded not guilty last month to two-counts of first degree trafficking in stolen property.
Police were first alerted to the store when Home Depot loss prevention found it had lost almost $100,000 to what they believe was an organized theft ring in the South Puget Sound. Undercover investigators say the goods were being sold to Thrift-T and resold online.
