The right lane of northbound I-5 that was closed near the exit to the U.S. 2 trestle since 11:30 a.m. reopened at just after 3 p.m., transportation officials said.
The lane had to be closed so crews could repair a drainage problem.
It appears an old drainage pipe leaked and caused water to back up at that location, said Connie Lewis, a spokeswoman for the construction company widening I-5 in that area. She said it doesn’t appear to be a sinkhole.
