An Edmonds lawyer who is the subject of a widespread theft investigation was arrested Friday at Sea-Tac Airport before she was able to board an airplane bound for California, a Snohomish County deputy prosecutor said.
Theresa Michelle Sowinski, 35, was arrested on a $50,000 bench warrant issued Sept. 28 after she failed to show for a pretrial hearing, said deputy prosecutor Kathy Jo Kristof.
Police got a tip that Sowinski was headed for the airport, Kristof said. She was arrested “with her passport on her,” Kristof said.
She’s charged with first-degree theft for allegedly transferring thousands of dollars of a client’s money into her own account.
She’s under investigation for additional charges, Kristof said.
