EVERETT — Follow the paw prints and learn all about Everett police.
The Everett Police Department plans its annual open house from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday at the north precinct, 3002 Wetmore Ave.
Colby the Crime Prevention Dog will leave “paw prints” marking a path for children to explore the station, said officer Aaron Snell, department spokesman.
The open house is a chance for the community to see police headquarters and meet local officers, Snell said. More than 1,500 people came last year.
Children who attend will receive a “passport” they can stamp by learning about different kinds of police teams, Snell said. There also will be law enforcement demonstrations and interactive displays, in addition to prizes.
Colby will be in the Fourth of July parade at 11 a.m. and back at the station afterward.
People are encouraged to bring their cameras.
