Left-lane campers ‘profiled’ in commercial

The frustration many people feel with slow drivers who camp in the left lane is now being expressed in a radio commercial.

“Oblivious Left-Lane Occupant” is the title of the newest “Northwest profile” featured by PEMCO Insurance.

“You’ve likely seen these drivers puttering along in the left lane of Northwest freeways going just under the speed limit, seemingly unaware of the traffic jam building behind them,” the company’s press release said.

The commercial, which began running today, joins others such as “Goosebumped Beach Bum,” “Urban Chicken Farmer,” “Type ‘A’ Yoga Girl,” and “The Honker.”

The latest profile is the 51st in PEMCO’s series of ads that began running on radio and TV in 2007. It features the driver “who thinks ‘stay right except to pass’ is merely a suggestion.”
