Sound Transit on July 27 adopted station names for light rail stops in Snohomish County: “Mountlake Terrace” (at the Mountlake Terrace Transit Center) and “Lynnwood City Center” (Lynnwood Transit Center). Just across the county line, they also named two Shoreline stations: “Shoreline South/145th” (NE 145th Street) and “Shoreline North/185th” (NE 185th Street).
More than 7,500 station name suggestions came in through open house meetings and online surveys.
The top public recommendations for station names were Jackson Park (for NE 145th), Shoreline (for NE 185th), Mountlake Terrace (for Mountlake Terrace Transit Center) and Lynnwood Transit Center (for Lynnwood Transit Center). Final names were picked after talks with city leaders.
