BOTHELL – A double-wide mobile home in Bothell was destroyed in a fire Thursday night, according to Snohomish County Fire District 7.

The mobile home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at 6:59 p.m. in the 4600 block of 236th Place SE. Investigators believe the fire started near a gasoline generator.

Nobody was injured during the fire, and no other homes were threatened by the blaze.

The Bothell Fire Department also responded to the fire.

The Snohomish County medical examiner is still trying to confirm the identity of a woman whose body was found inside the trunk of a stolen car Sunday.

Police are investigating the woman’s death as a homicide. No arrests have been made in connection with her death, Everett police Sgt. Jerry Strieck said.

Police discovered the woman’s body after the car was towed from a private parking lot in south Everett. A person had called about the car being illegally parked, police said.

It’s not known how long she had been in the car.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police tip line at 425-257-8450.

A Lynnwood woman on her way to work suffered minor injuries Friday morning when her car was struck by a van allegedly fleeing police.

A police officer had reportedly tried to pull the van over for a registration violation about 8:40 a.m. in the 16800 block of Highway 99, Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions said. The van pulled into a parking lot and then sped away, Sessions said.

The officer lost sight of the vehicle and called off the chase.

Minutes later, a van with a similar description crashed into a woman’s car in the 15400 block of Ash Way. The two men inside the van reportedly tried to run away, but bystanders who saw the collision chased them down, Sessions said.

Police arrested the men for investigation of driving a stolen vehicle, drug possession and eluding a police officer.

The woman was treated for minor injuries at an area hospital.
