Three boys were injured in two separate fireworks-related incidents in Snohomish on Sunday.
Two brothers were hospitalized with burns on their arms and faces after something exploded in a trash can fire they had set, according to Snohomish Battalion Chief Mike Gatterman.
Word on the boys’ conditions, names and ages was not available Sunday.
The incident occurred in the 16600 block of 88th Street SW about 4:45 p.m. Exactly what type of device exploded was not known, Gatterman said.
In the other incident, a boy was treated for lacerations and burns to one of his hands after a homemade device exploded, Gatterman said.
The accident occurred shortly after 2 p.m. at the boy’s home in the 1600 block of Holly Vista Drive, Gatterman said. He was taken for treatment by his parents. His condition was unavailable Sunday.
Index: Man hurt when car strikes parked trailer
A 42-year-old Gold Bar man was injured when his car ran into a trailer that had stopped on the shoulder on U.S. 2 in Index on Sunday, according to the State Patrol.
The man’s condition was unavailable. The driver of the pickup pulling the trailer, a 53-year-old Pacific man, was uninjured.
The man had pulled his pickup and trailer over onto the shoulder on westbound U.S. 2 about 3:45 p.m. to let traffic go by, according to the State Patrol. The Gold Bar man then veered off the road and ran into the left side of the trailer. The accident remained under investigation.
