LAKE STEVENS – A house and two vehicles were destroyed in an early morning fire Thursday.
A passerby noticed flames about 12:30 a.m. coming from the outside of a house in the 1100 block of 18th Avenue NE. He pulled into the driveway and honked his horn, waking the couple inside, Fire District 8 Deputy Chief Dave Lingenfelter said.
The couple escaped unharmed. When firefighters arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames, Lingenfelter said. A pickup truck and car were consumed by the blaze. The loss was at least $400,000, he said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office.
