Christmas bus ride ends with man’s stabbing
MUKILTEO — A man was stabbed Christmas Day on a Community Transit bus, police said.
Two men who had apparently been drinking got on the bus about 6 p.m. near Highway 99 and the Mukilteo Speedway, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
The men started to argue and one man allegedly stabbed the other and ran off, she said.
The man who was stabbed, 30, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle in stable condition, Hover said.
His condition was not immediately available Wednesday.
Deputies and a police dog searched the area for the other man but were unable to find him, Hover said.
In addition to the bus driver, two other passengers were on the bus at the time of the attack, she said. No one else was injured.
Community Transit buses have safety equipment including a panic button and five cameras, spokesman Martin Munguia said.
Videotape from the bus on which the attack occurred has been turned over to the sheriff’s office, he said.
The alleged attacker is described as a white, in his 30s, about 6 feet tall, with blonde hair and a short beard. He was wearing blue pants, a gray hooded sweatshirt and a leather jacket.
Sheriff’s detectives are continuing their investigation.

Everett: Cigarette blamed for trailer fire
A cigarette is blamed for sparking a fire Christmas Day that destroyed a travel trailer and left one woman homeless, officials said.
The fire started just before 6:30 p.m. in the 11500 block of Highway 99 at the Harbour Point RV Park, Snohomish County Fire District 1 spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said.
Crews arrived and found a fifth-wheel-style trailer fully engulfed in flames, she said.
A Snohomish County fire marshal determined the blaze caused about $10,000 damage, Hynes said.
No one was injured in the blaze.
