EVERETT — An Everett man who says he’s in a gang was arrested after hitting another man with a broken bottle, creating a gash that required 33 stitches.
The fight was a result of a drunken argument, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
Around 4:15 p.m. Thursday, police were called to the 100 block of W. Casino Road, according to court documents.
Witnesses told police the man who was arrested, 22, a convicted felon, used a broken bottle in the assault.
He’s also accused of hitting one woman in the head with a beer bottle and punching another woman in the face.
The man told officers he’s a gang member, but police do not believe the assault had any gang ties. The man was jailed for investigation of first-degree assault.
Monroe: Burglary suspect bound for jail
The alleged burglar who was beaten with a baseball bat by the homeowners early Thursday was released from a Seattle hospital Friday and was headed behind bars, police said.
Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives planned to book the man, 24, into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, second-degree assault and possession of a stolen firearm, spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.
About 3:30 a.m. Thursday, the man allegedly broke into a home in the 21600 block of 164th Drive SE, she said. When the couple learned the man, who was armed with a gun, was alone, they decided to fight back.
They used a baseball bat to subdue the intruder and sent him to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with head injuries.
The couple was acting in self-defense, Hover said.
