An approaching plane? Nope, it’s speeding cars
MOUNTLAKE TERRACE – A trooper who arrested two men Sunday reported that they were driving so fast it sounded like an airplane approaching.
The men, 18 and 22, were clocked driving 141 mph in a Honda Accord and a BMW 330i on northbound I-5 approaching 44th Avenue W., according to Washington State Patrol trooper Kirk Rudeen.
The trooper, who was looking for speeders, reported hearing a loud noise, similar to an airplane, when the two cars blew past him. He followed after the cars and found both of them pulled over on the shoulder at the offramp from I-405. They stopped because one of passengers in the BMW wanted to ride in the Honda, Rudeen said.
The trooper arrested the drivers. They were booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of reckless driving and reckless endangerment.
Tulalip: Teen lands in hospital after stabbing
A teen was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Tuesday night after being stabbed by another teen on the Tulalip Indian Reservation.
The stabbing occurred about 7:40 p.m. Following the stabbing, the victim was driven to Boom City, said Jay Goss Jr., tribal police chief.
Goss said he did not know what triggered the stabbing.
Everett: No evidence of body left in house
Police say they didn’t turn up any evidence that would support an allegation that a dead body was being kept at a house on E. Marine View Drive.
Investigators searched the home last week after they received a tip that a homicide may have taken place there, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
Police found a shotgun shell and noted that a section of carpet had been cut out of the bedroom. Upon further investigation, the homeowner remembered that the carpet was cut because there’d been a small fire, Goetz said.
Investigators also located the alleged victim in Arizona, he said.
“We’re satisfied there’s not a crime,” Goetz said.
