Lynnwood — An electrical fire at a three-story apartment complex north of Lynnwood caused more than $50,000 damage Tuesday night.
The fire was reported just after 5 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 3700 block of 164th Street SW.
Residents evacuated the building and there were no injuries. The fire was contained to the kitchen and a wall separating two vacant apartments.
Arlington: Charges in woman’s beating
A 48-year-old Arlington man was charged Tuesday with first-degree assault in connection with a baseball-bat attack on a woman July 29 in Everett.
Rudy A. Basquez was being sought by police, court documents said. Charging papers filed in Snohomish County Superior Court allege that Basquez slugged the woman in the head with an aluminum baseball bat after the woman told three people to leave her home. Two of them did, but Basquez stayed behind, court documents said.
The woman lost consciousness, woke up in a pool of blood and then drove to a friend’s house to get help, said John Stansell, a deputy prosecutor.
