SEATTLE — An Oregon man who pleaded guilty to a federal drug charge will have to give up the $3.3 million in cash that authorities seized at the time of his arrest.
Rusty Boschee, 33, parked a rented trailer in Stanwood last year as a drop-off for Canadian-grown “B.C. Bud” marijuana, according to court documents. Conspirators loaded the trailer with about 650 pounds of dope. Boschee drove the load across state borders and delivered drugs in Chicago and New York. He was stopped by a Wyoming State Patrol trooper and police found the cash inside the truck.
He was indicted in September and pleaded guilty Tuesday to conspiracy to distribute marijuana. He faces up to 40 years in prison.

Stevens Pass: Dead snowboarder named
A snowboarder who died at Stevens Pass earlier this month was identified as Jared Nagel, 20, of Port Townsend, officials said.
Nagel died Feb. 2 after falling while on a jump called “Waterfall,” King County sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. John Urquhart said.
The King County Medical Examiner ruled the death accidental.
Nagel was treated at the scene, moved to an aid room but died shortly thereafter, Urquhart said.
Stanwood: Fire damages house
Nobody was injured Wednesday when a fire caused heavy damage to a house south of Stanwood.
The fire was reported about 5:50 p.m. in the 23300 block of 70th Ave. NW. Firefighters from North County Fire, Marysville, Stanwood and Silvana arrived to find a bedroom and a bathroom engulfed in flames, North County battalion chief Joel Smith said.
The fire was extinguished quickly, Smith said.
A man who lives at the house was not there when the fire started, Smith said.
Investigators believe the fire started near the chimney.
