CAMANO ISLAND — The Island County Sheriff’s Office has scheduled a meeting this week to inform the public about Colton Harris-Moore, the fugitive teenage burglar who is believed to have returned to the area.
The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Mabana Fire Station at 3651 S. Camano Drive.
Harris-Moore, convicted in June 2007 of three counts of residential burglary and sentenced to at least three years in confinement, escaped from a group home in April. Island County sheriff’s deputies believe the boy is again prowling homes on Camano Island.
Last Thursday, a deputy saw someone matching Harris-Moore’s description run after a brief chase in a stolen sports car. Break-ins on Camano Island have recently increased.
Harris-Moore is described at 6 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds.
