Local Briefly: Two Seattle teens charged in gang shooting

EVERETT — Two Seattle teenagers have been charged as adults in connection with a drive-by gang shooting that left another teen with gunshot wounds.

Prosecutors on Monday charged Ronald A. Gomez, 16, and Armando Lopez, 17, with first-degree assault in Snohomish County Superior Court. Sarah Black, 30, was charged with assault in Everett District Court.

Gomez and Lopez don’t have any prior criminal convictions, court records show. The teens allegedly told detectives they were in the back seat of Black’s car when an unidentified man seating in the front passenger seat fired a revolver out the window.

Detectives believe the teens and Black are members of MS-13, a violent street gang. The shooting likely was revenge for gunfire that wounded a suspected MS-13 member outside Seattle’s Northgate Mall in February, detectives wrote. Gomez was part of the group that was fired on in Seattle.

The victim in Everett’s shooting is believed to have ties to the rival gang and may have been with the Northgate shooter, court documents show.

Black allegedly told detectives she met with Gomez, Lopez and two other men at her north Everett house to talk about problems with other gangs. She reportedly said she is a captain for the gang. Black and the teens denied pulling the trigger. No other arrests have been made in the shooting.

Lake Stevens: Police seek victims of scam

@1. a BODY STYLES:Police are searching for anyone who was approached by a suspected scam artist who is accused of preying on the goodwill of strangers.

The Oregon man, 42, allegedly solicited money from local businesses and residents under the ruse he was selling advertising to help support a community youth baseball program.

Police believe he may have a partner who is still in the area. That man is thought to be in his 50s with grey hair. He’s about 6 feet tall.

Anyone who gave money to Eric Allen Lloyd or had contact with him or his partner is being asked to call Lake Stevens police detective Jeff Lambier at 425-337-9537.
