Local man killed by wrecking ball

EVERETT – A Snohomish man was killed Monday after he was struck by a crane at a construction site.

The accident happened about 8:47 a.m. in the 900 block of 13th Street, according to Everett Fire Marshal Warren Burns.

Medics transported the man to Providence Everett Medical Center, where he died. Other details were not available.

The state Department of Labor and Industries has opened an investigation into the accident, said spokesman Steve Pierce.
