EVERETT — Plans are scuttled for a new methadone clinic at Rucker and Pacific avenues.
The building that clinic operators had in mind was sold to another buyer, a City Council committee was told Wednesday night. It was The Everett Clinic’s former Trask Surgery Center at 3025 Rucker Avenue.
The city planning commission had been considering whether to allow a methadone clinic there, pending a public hearing.
Therapeutic Health Services, a Seattle nonprofit that operates a methadone clinic in south Everett, still is looking for a second site here, city officials said. Council members had some questions about how zoning would affect the search.
The Everett Clinic transferred the Trask center to a holding company last year. The Everett Clinic on Thursday referred questions about the property sale to its attorney, who did not return a phone call. Therapeutic Health Services also could not be reached for comment.
