CENTRALIA — The state Department of Labor and Industries has fined a Kalama logging company $7,800 for safety violations in the death of a worker in Lewis County.
The agency says ENB Logging and Construction did not make sure the worker was clear of moving equipment and did not have an accident prevention program tailored to the needs of the operation.
An 18-year-old Winlock man, Cole Bostwick, was crushed last May while working as a choke-setter on a crew that included his father.
The Chronicle reports the logging company says it will appeal the violations and fines.
