SEATTLE — A Lummi tribal member who was frustrated by his baby daughter’s crying squeezed her head between the bicep and forearm of his right arm.
The 6-month-old died in May of skull fractures and brain bleeding.
The U.S. attorney’s office in Seattle says Lawrence V. Tom, 23, pleaded guilty this week in federal court to manslaughter and faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced in March.
The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted in federal court because the death took place on the Lummi reservation.
