LYNNWOOD — Five people were displaced Saturday after the dryer in their two-story home north of Lynnwood caught fire, authorities said.
At around 1 p.m., the homeowner in the 1800 block of 144th Place Southwest reported smoke coming from the dryer, said South County Fire spokesperson Shawneri Guzman. The smoke quickly escalated to a “full working fire” that spread from the garage to the second story of the home, she said.
Everyone in the home was able to get out safely and there were no injuries, but the home was uninhabitable Saturday. Two adults and three children —ages 8, 5 and 2 — have been displaced, Guzman said.
Support 7 and the Red Cross were helping the family find lodging for the night.
