Incumbent Lynnwood City Councilman Benjamin Goodwin has won a tight contest from the Nov. 3 general election after a recount Thursday.
Results of the recount showed Goodwin expanding his lead over challenger Chris Frizzell from 19 votes to 21 votes. Goodwin added four votes to his total, and Frizzell added two votes to hers.
Snohomish County Elections Manager Garth Fell said Thursday that when officials set vote-tabulating machines for a single contest the machines pick up light marks that the regular count might have a missed.
Unofficial recount results were posted Thursday afternoon. Results will be certified by the county canvassing board Monday, Dec. 7 at 1:30 p.m.
