Lynnwood man allegedly used knife in threat

LYNNWOOD – A man was arrested Sunday for reportedly chasing his girlfriend with a butcher knife and threatening to stab her.

The woman told police she and her boyfriend, 38, were arguing about money when he grabbed a knife from the kitchen and chased her around the house, according to a police affidavit filed in Everett District Court.

Five young children were home at the time, according to court records. Two of them stood between the suspect and their mother, begging him not to hurt her, police wrote in court documents.

One of the children ran to a neighbor’s house and called 911.

The man was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of attempted second-degree murder. He was being held in lieu of $25,000.

The man was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree assault. He was being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.

The deputy is at home recovering from her injuries, according to the sheriff’s office.

Snohomish: Pot found, 18-year-old arrested

Police arrested an 18-year-old man over the weekend after finding 69 grams of marijuana in his vehicle.

Officers had responded to the 800 block of Avenue D shortly before 4 p.m. Saturday after getting a report of individuals “huffing” from aerosol cans in a parking lot.

As officers approached, the suspect began to leave from the middle of the group in his vehicle. The car, cash, a cell phone and suspected drug paraphernalia were seized, police said.

Later, a juvenile male attempted to contact the suspect, allegedly to buy marijuana. A search of that boy’s vehicle found a baggie of suspected dry mushrooms and drug paraphernalia.
