SEATTLE – A Lynnwood man was charged Friday with first-degree assault in the beating of an Everett man during a road rage incident in Shoreline.
Prosecutors say Jeremy Jay Rockwell, 22, kicked and punched the victim, 27, in the head, leaving him unconscious on the freeway Sunday.
The men exchanged blows following a road-rage incident in which witnesses said the Everett man chased after the car Rockwell was riding in, according to charging papers.
Witnesses told police both men threw bottles at each other’s vehicles before the assault on an I-5 offramp.
The Everett man’s children were inside the Jeep at the time.
Rockwell and the two other people in the car drove off before police arrived. He was arrested Wednesday in Lynnwood.
He is scheduled to be arraigned May 2 in King County Superior Court.
Everett: YMCA swim is for girls and women
A women’s swim will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. Sunday at the YMCA, 2720 Rockefeller Ave. The swim for women and girls is held every second and fourth Sunday. A donation of $2 is requested.
The Women’s Swim is part of the Woman to Woman Project, an Interfaith Association of Snohomish County program.
The purpose is to bring together women from various ethnic, religious and economic communities to create friendships and improve communication.
