LYNNWOOD — A man was killed and another was injured in a hit-and-run crash on Highway 99 in Lynnwood on Wednesday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Just after 6:30 p.m., a Lynnwood man, 29, and a Lynden man, 28, were crossing Highway 99 near 164th Street SW, according to the state patrol. A driver in a Chevy Trailblazer was reportedly heading south on Highway 99 in the right lane.
The driver hit the pedestrians and fled, authorities said. The Lynnwood man died at the scene. The Lynden man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with serious injuries.
Authorities identified the deceased Thursday afternoon as Nathan Coates.
Troopers released no information about the driver of the Trailblazer.
Lanes on southbound Highway 99 were closed for hours, until reopening around midnight.
