LYNNWOOD — Police blocked off Wilcox Park for about 30 minutes Friday afternoon to pursue a hit-and-run driver, Lynnwood police spokeswoman Shannon Sessions.
The chase occurred after police made a traffic stop at an apartment complex in the 18200 block of 52nd Avenue W., Sessions said.
An officer approached the vehicle when the driver, 28, of Lynnwood, drove away, Sessions said.
The driver struck two parked cars before abandoning his vehicle in the 5600 block of 196th Street SW, Sessions said.
Police blocked the park and adjacent streets, arresting the man as he left a nearby back yard, Sessions said.
