LYNNWOOD — The city of Lynnwood plans to pay a consultant up to $10,000 for advice on what to do with the municipal golf course at 20200 68th Ave. W.
The consultant’s recommendations are expected in mid-July, city officials said Wednesday.
City Councilmembers on Tuesday night passed a unanimous resolution regarding the city’s commitment to keeping the golf course open, parks director Lynn Sordel said.
Now, they’ll need to decide whether to hire an outside contractor to run the course — an option used by the city of Everett and Snohomish County.
The golf course’s future has been a decision facing the city for several months. The discussions began after the course’s financial problems were detailed in a report by the state Auditor’s Office.
The course remains open during the discussions. Several specials are planned for summer.
