LYNNWOOD — A woman was displaced from her home Wednesday afternoon after a fire started in her home near Alderwood Mall Way.
The woman was in the shower when she heard her dog start to bark. She checked on her pet to find the house in the 3900 block of 176th Place filled with black smoke, South County Fire spokeswoman Leslie Hynes said. The woman and dog were not injured.
Four fire engines, two ladder trucks and two medic units took part in the response. The fire was contained to the kitchen.
The Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating what started the blaze, Hynes said.
It’s unclear if the woman requires assistance from the local Red Cross chapter.
