EVERETT — Snohomish County deputies are investigating a shooting that left one man dead Monday morning on Highway 99.
Around 6:40 a.m., a man and a woman were parked in a private driveway along the 13500 block of Highway 99, said sheriff’s office spokesperson Courtney O’Keefe in a press release. According to deputies, an altercation ensued after the owner of the property came outside and confronted the couple. The homeowner fired one shot hitting the male driver, 38, who died at the scene. The woman was uninjured.
The suspect was interviewed by detectives and later released, O’Keefe said. The incident remains under investigation by the county’s Major Crimes Unit.
