LYNNWOOD — A crash killed a man Sunday afternoon, police said, and another driver was arrested shortly after fleeing the scene.
The collision occurred at 198th Street SW and 76th Avenue W, west of the Lynnwood Municipal Golf Course, at about 3:45 p.m.
“The suspect driver may have been traveling at a high rate of speed and struck a parked, unoccupied vehicle before striking another vehicle,” Lynnwood police said in a news release. That third vehicle was driven by a man who later died at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.
“The suspect fled the scene of the collision on foot but was captured by Edmonds police officers,” Lynnwood police said. He was described as in his 20s and was arrested for investigation of vehicular homicide.
There were no passengers in the cars and no one else was injured. Police continue to investigate.
