EVERETT — A man accused of causing a crash that killed two children was taken into custody Tuesday after a judge agreed to impose $75,000 bail.
Todd Brown pleaded not guilty to two counts each of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault. His trial is now scheduled for August.
Snohomish County deputy prosecutor Tobin Darrow asked that Brown be held on $100,000 bail given the serious nature of the charges. Brown, 51, is accused of being under the influence of methamphetamine when his pickup truck smashed into the back of a minivan in February on I-5 near 164th Street SW.
There were four children in the van along with two adults. Killed were Amiyah Johnson, 12, and her cousin, Yesterday Wallace, 2. Two boys, ages 5 and 7, were hospitalized with numerous broken bones.
