TACOMA, Wash. — A Pierce County man has admitted in court to killing his 18-year-old friend in 2013 with two iron skillets and a golf club.
The News Tribune reports Michael Breer pleaded guilty Thursday to second-degree murder in the death of Justin Morris. A Pierce County Superior Court sentenced him to 18 years and four months in prison.
In a plea deal with prosecutors, Breer agreed to lead police to his friend’s remains in a wooded area in unincorporated Pierce County. In exchange, prosecutors amended the charge to second-degree murder.
In July 2013, a friend of Breer’s called 911 to say Breer told him he had killed Morris and needed help disposing of the body. Detectives found evidence of a bloody encounter at Breer’s home. Prosecutors charged him that month with first-degree murder, even though no body was found at the time.
